In the most recent Hard Knocks trailer, Mike McDaniel promises to never change.

After watching the latest trailer, which the NFL released for tonight’s Hard Knocks season premiere (which airs live at 9 PM EST on HBO Max), I’m prepared to run through a wall for Miami Dolphins Head Coach Mike McDaniel, who promised in it to “never (bleeping) change!”

I will be the first to say that, given the Dolphins are having one of their best seasons in decades, I’m feeling a little Joe Philbin-ish. Let’s face it, under the bright lights, Miami does have a tendency to implode. Having said that, McDaniel seems prepared for this trip. Furthermore, you have to wonder how much things have changed now that the media and cameras are constantly in their face. It will be intriguing to observe, though, if having film crews in their lives will have any positive or negative effects.

But not everyone has the same enthusiasm for Hard Knocks as coach McDaniel and the Dolphins supporters do. When asked if he would watch tonight’s episode during his press conference today, QB1 Tua Tagovailoa, the 2023 MVP candidate, gave a very direct response.

In the end, it seems straightforward to me. I’m sure I would shell out the extra money to see my favorite team up close if this was a feature or extra bonus that Sunday Ticket or NFL Plus offered. Additionally, I believe that this second trip will be very different from what we saw with Joe Philbin.

De’Von Achane, a rookie sensation who is averaging 11.8 yards per carry, was placed on injured reserve for a month after aggravating a knee injury during the Raiders game. Chris Brooks, another rookie, was also placed on injured reserve for a leg injury during that same period.

Wilson and Achane can play against the Jets because they are currently listed as active players. But because of the knee injury that kept him from playing more than one carry and one catch against the Raiders, Achane is probably going to be limited during practice this week.

In Ahmed’s place, the Dolphins promoted practice squad wide receiver Robbie Chosen up, and Miami signed running back Darryton Evans to the practice squad.

Earlier in the season, Evans was a member of Miami’s practice squad; however, he left to sign with the Chicago Bears. Although he was waived last week, in the five games he played for the Bears, he caught seven passes for 49 yards, gained 105 yards, and scored one touchdown on 30 carries.

It’s not clear yet which of the two spots the Dolphins have available for players on injured reserve to rejoin the 53-man roster will be used for Brooks or Ahmed.

Guard Isaiah Wynn, who sustained a serious quadricep injury last month, and receiver Erik Ezukanma, who is recovering from a neck injury that put him on the reserve non-football injury list, are the only other players Miami could use a return from injured reserve.

Ahmed, a fourth-year veteran who has been with Miami since the former Washington star was claimed off waivers as a rookie, will have gained 61 yards and scored one touchdown on 22 carries this season if he is not able to make a return. In addition, the pending free agent caught 16 passes, gaining 88 yards and one touchdown on those receptions.
