“If I had to pick a winner,” Chris Sutton says of Tottenham’s match against Aston Villa.

Former Premier League striker and current BBC pundit Chris Sutton believes Aston Villa will draw their upcoming Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Actually, Sutton believes that Spurs will be lucky to get a point… He made extensive predictions for the game, which ended in a 2-2 tie at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Spurs aren’t in good form. James Maddison and Micky van de Ven’s injury has hit us hard, while Cristian Romero’s absence due to suspension was dearly felt in the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves beat us 2-1 with two late goals after we were beaten 4-1 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge after going down to nine men. Because of those results, we have slipped down to fourth in the table with 25 points from 12 matches, and trail league leaders Manchester City by three points.

That gap, against a team like Manchester City in the title race, can be a lot already. We have to aim to win the Premier League title regardless of the injury situation here, which is why we can’t afford to drop points against Villa at home.

We need to keep up with Arsenal and Liverpool in the table. Moreover, it is imperative we win our home games if we are to be taken seriously in the title race. We lost just twice in 23 games against Villa last season.

But Villa played well against us last term, completing a league double over us, beating us 2-0 at home. Emery is a smart manager and he has some world-class players in his team, but Ange Postecoglou should know that Spurs have to take the onus in this game, attack, and outscore the Villans.
