Top wide receiver for the Jaguars is out against the Browns, but Trevor Lawrence is in.

It appeared as though quarterback Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars might have sustained a catastrophic injury when left lineman Walker Little stepped on his right ankle during the game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Jaguars have stated that the top quarterback had a high-ankle sprain following an MRI, but they have not ruled him out. However, due to a core muscle injury he sustained early in the game, their best wide receiver, Christian Kirk, is out. When the Jaguars focus on the Cleveland Browns, Walker Little, who was injured on the same play as Lawrence, is also a question mark.

During his press conference on Tuesday, Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson described Lawrence’s injury as “just a right high-ankle sprain”. Testing indicates that the remainder of his ankle is stable. Although Pederson hasn’t ruled Lawrence out of the game against the Browns, he hasn’t given the injury a timeframe either, stating that they’ll see how it looks in a few days.

In addition to having his foot stepped on, Lawrence’s body fell awkwardly, tripping over his own ankle. With assistance getting to his feet, he attempted to walk but eventually fell to the ground. Following footage of a few employees helping Lawrence walk off the field, into the tunnel, and to their medical room rather than having him go on a cart, the Jaguars organization was severely criticized on social media. Lawrence was reportedly observed standing in the locker room following the game, but he refused to put any weight on his damaged ankle.

For the Jaguars, C.J. Beathard completed the game at quarterback. In the event that Lawrence is sidelined, the Jaguars will likely turn to Beathard, who will cover Lawrence’s practice reps while the team deliberates. Lawrence won’t be able to move as freely even if he can play. The Jaguars quarterback had recently returned to full health and was able to move the ball well, which gave them more offensive possibilities. As an illustration, the Jaguars used an option play in which Lawrence found Travis Etienne to pass the ball to for a touchdown. He will probably only be able to play from the pocket if he chooses to play.

Walker Little, Lawrence’s left tackle, injured his left hamstring on the play that led to Lawrence being stepped on in the opening play. Little was forced to retreat as a result, stepping on Lawrence’s right foot and ankle in the process. They’re going to hold off on assessing his possible availability until later this week.

Early in the game, Christian Kirk was the recipient of a pass from Lawrence that caused him to land at an odd angle. With a groin injury, he was helped off the field and at first given a dubious status. He was formally ruled out later. Kirk won’t be available for Sunday’s game in Cleveland, according to the team, which is characterizing it as a core muscle injury and predicting a lengthy absence. With 57 receptions and 787 yards, Kirk is the Jaguars’ top receiver.

Because of his ability to line up in all offensive formations and take advantage of matchups, Kirk can put pressure on opposing secondaries. That might have given the Jaguars a significant tactical advantage because the Browns, which include Denzel Ward and Cameron Mitchell, are still suffering with injuries at the corner position.

Whatever happens with Calvin Ridley and Evan Engram, who have established themselves as potent receiving threats, they will still have Kirk, which is a big loss for the Jaguars in Cleveland. Tre Herndon, a defensive back, was ruled out of Monday night’s game and is currently undergoing the concussion protocol.

Many Mississippi State players are participating in the NFL season, which is currently in full swing, and are even shining on the largest platform.

The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl for the second time in Chris Jones’ career last season, with Willie Gay Jr. and Jones sharing the trophy. The two defeated Darius Slay and Fletcher Cox, two more former Bulldog greats, to win the championship, and this year, the four standouts will compete to return to the same spot with their teams.

This season, State will have two new players on the field: defensive tackle Cameron Young and cornerback Emmanuel Forbes, who were selected and will contribute to Seattle’s and Washington’s defenses, respectively.

When the season began this weekend, 15 players were listed on opening day rosters; 10 of those players were from Mississippi high schools, and three more were from the Mississippi Junior College system.

There are presently seven more players on the practice squad, and more could soon be signed. Let’s examine who to watch out for this weekend as you watch the major games.

This week, Martin Emerson reached 100 career tackles, Dak Prescott earned another victory with three more touchdowns and came just one yard short of another 300-yard effort, and Denico Autry secured his career-high tying ninth sack of the season.

Let’s examine the statistics from this action-packed week.
