Following last night’s victory over Luton Town, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, announced that Takehiro Tomiyasu will be sidelined for some time due to an injury.

Last night, the Gunners won spectacularly at Kenilworth Road. Declan Rice scored the game’s winning goal almost immediately after the final whistle, and Arsenal’s post-victory celebrations were incredible to witness. The excitement did, however, fade a little after Arteta broke the bad news regarding Tomiyasu.

Mikel Arteta reports that Takehiro Tomiyasu of Arsenal is hurt.
In recent weeks, Takehiro Tomiyasu has emerged as one of Arsenal’s best players.

Ben White’s injury presented an opportunity for the Japan international. Even after recovering, the England defender had to settle for a bench spot because he was that good during that time.

Tomiyasu unfortunately went down clutching his calf during the victory over Wolves last weekend. While everyone had hoped that his withdrawal was merely a precaution, some unfavorable news has emerged.

Tomiyasu underwent scans on his calf yesterday, and Mikel Arteta confirmed yesterday that the results showed damage. This will keep him out of commission for some time.

According to Arsenal.com, the Spaniard stated following last night’s match: “We had a scan, and it’s not good news.” He will be sidelined for some time due to a calf injury.

Over the past few weeks, Takehiro Tomiyasu has been playing at his best for Arsenal.

The Japan international has excelled for the Gunners at both full-back positions and provides them with defensive core cover.

Arsenal will really miss Tomiyasu, particularly if he is unable to return in time for the match against Liverpool a few days before Christmas.

Although he is the most qualified player in the team to handle Mohamed Salah, Arteta will have to rely on Alex Zinchenko to contain the Egyptian if he is unable to do so.
