Cleveland Browns Make A Significant Declaration

Pittsburgh — After the Pittsburgh Steelers’ thrilling victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14, the team’s main rivals in the AFC North have announced the selection of a new starting quarterback. Following the team’s 31-27 victory over Jacksonville, head coach Kevin Stefanski of the Cleveland Browns declared that Joe Flacco would be the starting quarterback going forward. Flacco will lead the team in a close battle with the Pittsburgh Steelers for an AFC Wild Card spot as the regular season draws to a close.

The 38-year-old Flacco signed with the Browns last month following the news that Deshaun Watson had sustained an injury that would end his season. Two weeks after joining the practice squad, he was named the starting lineup. Flacco threw for 254 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams in his first game action in more than a year. This week, Flacco and the Browns recovered. This week, in a game Cleveland won 31-27 over the Jaguars, he passed for 311 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.

One spot ahead of the sixth-place Steelers in the AFC Playoff rankings, the Browns currently occupy the fifth seed. The season series was tied 1-1 between these two AFC North rivals.
