TJ Perenara has stated that he wants to play for the All Blacks, implying that he and Cam Roigard have a chance to accomplish something special with the Hurricanes.

After needing two surgeries to repair an Achilles injury he sustained during the All Blacks’ 2022 end-of-year tour, Perenara, 31, missed the entire 2023 season. “A major one is playing. Returning to the field and demonstrating excellent footwork,” Perenara stated.

“I make broad goals for a year, then I focus on my short-term objectives.” Right now, my main objective is to simply return and resume full-team training. Those objectives start to change when I get to that stage, start team training, and look to pick up the game again.
