ASTON VILLA COULD MOVE FOR ‘EXTRAORDINARY’ PLAYMAKER IF £17M DEAL DOESN’T HAPPEN

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa could make a bid for Nicolo Zaniolo in the summer transfer window.

According to TMW, Aston Villa could try to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray in the summer transfer window if they are unable to bring in Thiago Almada from Atlanta United.

The Major League Soccer club value Almada at €20 million (£17.32 million).

If Villa are unable to strike a deal with Atlanta United for the 22-year-old Argentina international playmaker, then they will try for Italy international Zaniolo.

Both Almada and Zaniolo can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.

Nicolo Zaniolo would be a brilliant signing for Aston Villa

In our opinion, Galatasaray playmaker Nicolo Zaniolo would be a brilliant signing for Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old is one of the best attacking players around, and he could flourish under former Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery at Villa.

Zaniolo won the UEFA Europa Conference League with AS Roma in 2021-22 and helped Galatasaray clinch the 2022-23 Turkish Super Lig title last season.

The playmaker struggled to play regularly for Roma in the first half of last season, but following his transfer to Galatasaray in the January transfer window, he scored five goals in two starts and eight substitute appearances in the Turkish Super Lig.

There have been injury issues with Zaniolo in the past, but there is no doubt that the 24-year-old is hugely talented.

His best years are ahead of him.

AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho described the Italian star as “extraordinary” on the club’s YouTube channel in August 2022.
