Breaking: San Francisco 49ers Defensive End Is Not Worried About Revenge Against His former Team

The San Francisco 49ers are coming off their worst loss this season to the Baltimore Ravens. They will look to turn things around against one of the bottom teams in the league as they go up against the Washington Commanders this week.

One of the under rated stories in a game that the 49ers should handle easily, is Chase Young who was traded this season from the Commanders to the 49ers in a trade that helped bolster the already dominant 49ers pass rush as they make a push for the Super Bowl.

Young was a top draft pick by the Commanders and it came as a bit of a surprise that he was traded in the middle of the year when he had been playing some solid football. But for Young he welcomed the trade going from one of the worst to one of the best teams in NFC and now has the opportunity to play very important games.

Young was asked about his feelings as he prepares to play his former team and he was quoted in his press conference saying:

His ex teammates think differently about Young returning to play the commanders with ex teammate Terry McLaurin saying:

He’s going to come out here and try to give his best,” receiver Terry McLaurin said. “He’s going to be super juiced up to be back home and playing against his former team and everything.”

While Young insisted it is just another game and while he must be happy to be on the best team in NFC, playing a former team is never just another game. Athletes are human like everyone one else and when you work at a place for years and then get traded there is emotion that is tied to ones time at their former employer. Even if he calls it another game, There must be extra motivation to get the win.

This week is a huge one for him,” Bosa said. “He’s already pretty hyped up about it and excited, so we’re going to try and play our best game for him.”

So while Young is downplaying it, clearly his teammates know that he wants this win badly and he is hungry to show his former team just how happy he is to be on the 49ers and the best way to do that would be play well and get the win easily as they should.

While the Commanders are at the bottom of the NFC, each game leading up to the post season is very important for a team to get their mind right. The 49ers are also coming off a bad loss to the Ravens and many players have to correct the errors of the past game, mainly Brock Purdy, so they carry good momentum into the playoffs. Look for Chase Young to make a big impact in this game as even though he is not saying this game means extra to him, the whispers in the locker room and from his teammates are saying that he is hungry and motivated to beat his former team.
