Arsenal gives Crystal Palace permission to pursue Eddie Nketiah again.

Despite an initial proposal setback, Crystal Palace is still in the running for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, as FootballTransfers can confirm.

According to sources, the Gunners are still willing to sell the striker, but they would prefer to bring in a replacement, or at least have one planned, before letting their academy graduate go.

Arsenal’s rejection of Crystal Palace’s initial offer earlier this week put a stop to the planned transfer, but it appears the Eagles are not deterred and a deal may still go through.

The 24-year-old is said to be free to move on for the right price and if Arsenal are able to sign another No. 9 despite reports that he is not for sale during the winter transfer window.

Who are the transfer targets for Arsenal?
Before allowing Nketiah to leave, the North London team is actively investigating their options in the transfer market. Benjamin Sesko, Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus, and Marcos Leonardo, the wonderkid from Santos, are all favorites. There might be space for both a top striker and a developing player like Leonardo.

Arsenal needs to abide by FFP rules, but hopefully they can attract some fresh talent to invigorate their attack. The realization of that would be aided by Nketiah’s potential departure.

Gabriel Jesus missed two crucial chances as Mikel Arteta’s team lost 2-0 to West Ham, dropping them to second place in the Premier League. Due to injuries to Thomas Partey, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Jurrien Timber, Mikel Arteta is faced with a difficult situation.

The runners-up from the previous campaign will take on Fulham at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
