Greg Dulcich’s hamstring is “great,” but he recently developed a “weird” foot injury.

The good news for Greg Dulcich as his second season comes to an end is that his hamstring holds up well.

“I have good hamstring feeling. And it felt good as I was working out,” Dulcich remarked on Monday while the Broncos were tidying up their locker rooms in preparation for their three-month hiatus. “I was excited to return to practice, and in the weeks leading up to it, I was hitting my high speeds.”

“And then, well, I had to screw up the week I came back.”

Greg Dulcich experienced foot swelling in his first practice after missing 62 days due to a hamstring injury sustained in the team’s loss to Kansas City on October 12.

It was strange, he remarked. It had to happen the week I was returning to practice, of course. Just a strange enlargement. Regretfully, my feet are quite bony, and my cleat caused quite an uncomfortable and strange irritation to them.

“Yes, that’s a shame.”

He also has no idea when his foot injury will completely heal.

He remarked, “I’m going to look at a ton of stuff and try to figure it out.” “I still have some healing to do.”

Greg Dulcich endured a difficult journey to try and recover as he dealt with his fourth injured-reserve stint in two NFL seasons. He visited “a few” experts. He went down in weight.

He remarked, “I think a lot of factors kind of go into it.” We tried to consider every possibility and make sure nothing was overlooked because of this.

That was sort of the weight loss strategy. I mean, my hamstring feels great, so I guess it worked. It simply ended that way.

The tight ends for the Broncos had trouble producing in the passing game without Dulcich. This season, the remaining four players—Nate Adkins, Lucas Krull, Chris Manhertz, and Adam Trautman—have combined for 337 yards.

In just 10 games during the 2022 season, Dulcich alone accumulated 411 yards. Ultimately, the UCLA product turned out to be indispensible, at least with the parts the Broncos already had.

This is partly the reason why Dulcich was mentioned last week by offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, who stated that the Broncos still have high hopes for the 2022 third-round pick.

The strategy, according to Dulcich, is to “just try and get healthy, then just stay healthy and make sure I put this stuff behind me.”
