JJ Watt jokes that he could return to the NFL to replace injured brother TJ for the Steelers’ playoff clash against the Bills: ‘Think they’d notice?’

On social media, JJ Watt made jokes about possibly playing in the NFL this weekend instead of his injured younger brother TJ, when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Buffalo Bills in a Wild Card game.

Having established himself as one of the best defensive linemen of this century, JJ, who is still only 34, retired from the NFL at the end of the previous season.

TJ has assumed the family mantle as one of the best defensive players in the league, but a knee injury will keep him out of Pittsburgh’s game against Buffalo.

Following his retirement, JJ Watt has been a regular guest on “The Pat McAfee Show.” He and his wife Kealia Ohai, a professional soccer player in her own right, also became minority investors in Burnley, a Premier League team.

JJ shared an altered picture of himself sporting a black Steelers jersey and his brother’s No. 90 on X, the former Twitter platform. He wrote, “Think they’d notice?” as the picture’s caption.

TJ participated in Pittsburgh’s battle to guarantee a postseason berth against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18.

Watt’s injury’s extent is now known to the public thanks to JJ, who revealed on social media that Watt had a Grade 2 MCL sprain.

The older Watt continued, saying that while “everything else looks pristine,” the injury will require a “couple weeks” of rest and recuperation.

The Steelers’ next game in the AFC Divisional Round would be a rematch with the Ravens in Baltimore if they were to upset the Bills.

Given that Pittsburgh is the lowest seed in the conference and the Ravens are ranked first, Pittsburgh will almost certainly face Baltimore if it advances.
