Owner of the Indianapolis Colts Jim Irsay was discovered unconscious in December after possibly overdosing, according to a police report.

The Indianapolis Colts owner, Jim Irsay, was discovered unconscious and cold to the touch in December after taking an overdose, according to a police report.

According to a police report that CNN affiliate WISH was able to obtain, the incident happened on December 8 at 4:30 a.m. at Irsay’s residence in Carmel, Indiana.

Irsay, 64, was described as “unresponsive, breathing, but turning blue” by an officer who arrived at the home, according to the Carmel Police Department report, which classified the incident as an overdose.

Irsay “continues to recover from his respiratory illness,” according to a statement released by the Colts in response to the report.

The group stated, “We will not be making any more comments on his personal health, and we continue to request that Jim and his family’s privacy be respected.”

According to the police report, Irsay had fallen in the bathroom, but when the officers arrived, he had been moved to a bed in the house and had oxygen in his nose.

Irsay reacted somewhat when a responding officer gave him one dose of Narcan, according to the report.

Within minutes, Narcan, a medication used to reverse opioid overdose, can bring a person back to consciousness.

The report states that just as officers were going to give Irsay an automated external defibrillator (AED), paramedics arrived and took control.

The December police report stated, “At this point, it is unknown what Mr. Irsay had ingested prior to our arrival.”

Irsay claimed in an interview with Real Sports on HBO in November that he had at least 15 rehab visits under his belt and that he had overdosed on drugs in the past.

As CNN previously reported, Irsay was also arrested in 2014 for driving while intoxicated. Police claimed to have discovered prescription medications in pill bottles when they arrested Irsay. Irsay was placed on probation for a year after entering a guilty plea to a misdemeanor.

Following the passing of his father, Robert Irsay, in December 1997, he became the owner of the Colts.
