Top-Rated 2025 Broadcasting Device Jaime Ffrench recaps the football visit to FSU.

The Florida State Seminoles are starting to plan for the program’s future now that the off-season is well underway, and it all begins with the 2025 recruiting class. Junior day at FSU on Saturday gave some of the best recruits in the country an opportunity to visit the campus and facilities, meet with coaches, players, and staff, and more. Jaime Ffrench, a wide receiver from Jacksonville, Florida, was one of the recruits. After Nick Saban’s retirement, the Mandarin High School junior receiver declared he would be reopening his recruitment, despite having previously committed to the University of Alabama. Ffrench was able to talk to NoleGameday after his eighth trip to Tallahassee, recapitulating his first  visit since reopening his recruitment.

“I came out yesterday a little early, just to get a better feel for the campus, and I really enjoyed it. It’s always just a great time when I come out here at Florida State,” French remarked. Despite having expressed interest in FSU prior to committing to the Crimson Tide, Ffrench acknowledged that all indications point to Tallahassee, where one of his current teammates is committed to play signal caller for the university.

“Well, it’s only two hours away, and my quarterback Tramell Jones has already committed, so it’s difficult to say no at this time.” Ffrench stated, “They’re just pushing really hard right now with the recruitment.” Before committing to a school, Ffrench still has plenty of time to consider his options as early signing day for the class of 2025 is less than a year away. That being said, Ffrench ranked Florida State, Ohio State, and Alabama among his top three universities. He did acknowledge, though, that one school has jumped ahead in his recruitment.

“I would say Florida State, definitely Florida State,” said Ffrench. Recruitment is influenced by a variety of factors, including culture, chemistry, the program, and the individuals within it—particularly by how they throw the ball in the air. The 6’1″, 185-pound wide receiver is rated as the 12th overall prospect and the third-best receiver in the class of 2025. He is a composite five-star recruit. Linebacker Mannie Nunnery has decided to withdraw his name from the service and return to Florida for his final season of college eligibility after a brief stint in the NCAA transfer portal, according to Jacob Rudner of Swamp247. Nunnery, a rising redshirt senior, made his second career portal entry on January 11 as a graduate student. Prior to the 2023 season, he moved from Houston to Florida following four years with the Cougars.

Due to injuries at the position in the second half of the season, Nunnery started three games for Florida in 2023 and played in every game. Nunnery made 28 tackles, half a sack, 1.5 for loss, and a pass breakup in his single season with the Gators. In addition to his success at Houston, Nunnery finished his collegiate career with 109 total tackles, 8.5 for loss, three sacks, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble.

Nunnery’s return gives Florida an option to start inside linebacker opposite rising junior Shemar James. This offseason, Scooby Williams, who was James’s roommate in 2023, transferred to Texas A&M. But he’ll be up against some fresh faces vying for playing time. To shore up the middle of the Gators’ defense for years to come, Florida signed Myles Graham and Aaron Chiles, two prospects ranked in the top 100 of the class of 2024, in December and added Grayson “Pup” Howard, a sophomore transfer from South Carolina.
