Derrick Henry drops a shocking hint: the Titans star may be leaving in the upcoming NFL free agency
After an outstanding eight years as a running back for the Tennessee Titans, Derrick Henry is expected to enter NFL free agency for the first time.
The two-time NFL rushing champion appears to be moving to a different city for the upcoming campaign.
During a guest appearance on the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast (via Pro Football Talk), Henry, 30, discussed his impending free agency. Henry didn’t hold back when expressing his preferences for free agency.
Tennessee recently concluded an unimpressive six-win campaign. Unexpectedly, Mike Vrabel was fired as head coach, which infuriated Henry.
“Whoa. Whoa. I’m taken aback. Coach Vrabel leads by example. He is an excellent teacher and coach. Following Vrabel’s dismissal, Henry remarked, “I know he will get another opportunity right away.”

Henry averaged a scorching 1,441 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns during his time with the Titans from 2019–23. This past season, he continued to play at a high level, amassing 1,381 total yards and 12 touchdowns.
Henry will probably need to accept a below-market contract in order to make it work if his objective is to sign with a championship contender.

Henry recently signed a $50 million, four-year contract with the Titans. The running back has reached the age of 30, so it is extremely unlikely that he will receive a contract that long. We are fully aware of the current state of play in the running back market. Henry, who is over thirty, is undoubtedly considering a shorter-term arrangement.
This is pure speculation. But King Henry might very well make sense with a team like the Kansas City Chiefs. Before the NFL trade deadline in-season, they were connected to him.

Bobby Slowik, the offensive coordinator for the Houston Texans, is still one of the most desirable names in the coaching world. Slowik now has three more interview opportunities after having already conducted interviews for the head coach positions with the Tennessee Titans and the Carolina Panthers. According to Albert Breer of NBCS Boston, he intends to interview on Sunday for the openings with the Seattle Seahawks, Washington Commanders, and Atlanta Falcons.
The Texans have to keep playing even though they are getting ready for a playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens. Slowik will most likely be leaving the Texans after this playoff run, having decided to take a head coaching position elsewhere following the season. It is uncommon to find Slowik’s options in terms of city, scheme, and compatibility with specific organizations. There are plenty of opportunities, and it appeared that they would all be delighted to have the offensive wizard join them.
Although Slowik is relatively young for a head coach, he has a track record of success. Slowik began his NFL career with one of the most talented coaching staffs in history, the Washington Commanders, and later played a significant amount of time behind Kyle Shanahan for the San Francisco 49ers. From 2017 to 2022, he served as an assistant for the 49ers, and in that time, he was promoted to offensive coordinator for the Texans.
