The return of Patrick Kane gives the Detroit Red Wings a significant boost.

The return of Patrick Kane to the starting lineup will increase the Detroit Red Wings’ output.

On Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings are looking for a victory. The Red Wings could use some offense after their disappointing loss to the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night—a loss that looks better on paper than it actually was. Before the end of the month, Detroit needs to find a few more points.

If Patrick Kane is able to return to the starting lineup for the Detroit Red Wings, it will provide them with much-needed momentum. Even though the offense is blazing, Kane’s return would enable the team to maintain its offensive output and give them a valuable addition in the forward core.

Fortunately, Kane’s lower body injury has kept him out of action rather than a hip injury. The good news is that he seems to be headed toward a return after practicing on Wednesday. It appears from the beat writer’s barrage of tweets that he took part fully in the team’s Wednesday practice. He hasn’t practiced in almost two weeks, so that’s definitely good news.

Kane’s return to the ice must excite the Red Wings since he would invigorate their offensive line. The squad was gaining ground early in the month, and although they are still gaining ground, they are not doing so at the rapid speed he was setting.

Patrick Kane of the Detroit Red Wings could be getting close to returning.

Kane joined the Red Wings organization and quickly established himself as a formidable player. Some had written him off, but he defied the odds to return from his hip-resurfacing surgery and has since returned to the NHL as a quality player. Kane has adapted well to his new surroundings and the Red Wings’ usage of him.

Kane has managed seven goals and nine assists for a total of 16 points through 19 games in Detroit. He’s started pulling off power plays more frequently, and he looks the part. Regaining a healthy Kane in the starting lineup would be extremely beneficial for Detroit.

Each and every point is valuable to the team. Although they still have a chance to make the playoffs, they need to conclude the month strongly before the All-Star Break. Derek Lalonde, the head coach, will be able to expect consistent results with Kane back with the forward group.

Three power-play goals against Dallas may have been “doing just fine” without Kane, but he’s a real asset there and a wizard with the puck on his stick. Additionally, Yzerman ought to give him more time, and I hope he stays with this team, but that’s a different conversation altogether.

Regaining Kane is undoubtedly a positive development for the Red Wings as they strive to finish this half of the season strong and head into the All-Star Break.
