Chris Paul and Moses Moody of the Warriors make significant progress after their injuries
Chris Paul and Moses Moody have both overcome obstacles in their recuperations, and the Golden State Warriors are hopeful that reinforcements will arrive soon.
After sustaining a second metacarpal fracture to his left hand on January 5 against the Detroit Pistons, Paul has missed the last eight games for the Warriors. On January 8th, Paul had surgery then. Paul is reportedly making good recovery, according to the reevaluation, and he is now allowed to start doing light on-court exercises while wearing a splint on his left hand.
In two weeks, the Warriors point guard will undergo another evaluation.
This season, the 19-year-old veteran has appeared in 32 games for the Warriors, making 11 starts. With 42.4 percent shooting from the field, 36.1 percent from the 3-point line, and 83.3 percent from the free throw line, he was averaging a career-low 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
Moses Moody, a guard for the Warriors, has missed Golden State’s last six games due to a grade 1 strain to his left calf sustained on January 10 against the New Orleans Pelicans. Moody has reportedly advanced significantly as well, and the team has given him permission to practice.
The Warriors’ recent four-game road trip left Moody out, according to coach Steve Kerr.
Kerr referred to Moody’s absence as a “huge loss.” “He’s been playing really well since returning to the lineup, so it’s a big loss, obviously, given the injuries we have.” We need him, so hopefully it won’t be too long and he can return soon after the trip.
Moody leads the Warriors in scoring this season with 8.7 points and 3.1 rebounds on average.

Report: The likelihood that the Dubs would make a big trade dropped last month.
Monte Poole and Kerith Burke talk about whether Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy will fix the defense-related issues facing the team prior to the NBA Trade Deadline in February.
Teams all around the NBA are considering their options and making decisions with just over a week until the trade deadline on February 8; but will the Warriors act?
Dub Nation might not want to get its hopes up that the struggling Warriors will make a significant trade to ease their recent woes, even though Golden State could undoubtedly make a deal with another organization.
The Athletic’s Anthony Slater reported on Tuesday that the Warriors’ chances and internal expectations of making a move that “meaningfully moves the needle” have steadily declined over the past month, citing team sources who are not permitted to speak publicly.
Before the Toronto Raptors traded Pascal Siakam to the Indiana Pacers, Slater claims that Golden State was on the “fringe” of the trade market. As a result, the Warriors are currently effectively in trade limbo.
“This only further shoved the Warriors into what appears to be a trade deadline trap of circumstance without a clear path for upward or downward mobility,” Slater stated. “They’re in NBA no-man’s-land.”
Win-now players Jordan Poole and Patrick Baldwin Jr. were traded, and 19-year-old guard Chris Paul was added, along with other court-savvy veterans like Dario Šarić, as Golden State went into the 2023–24 NBA season.
The plan was to surround Steph Curry and the rest of Golden State’s core with a team that could capitalize on the situation, but the Warriors are currently No. 12 in the Western Conference with a 19-24 record at the halfway point of the season.
Whether general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. and the Warriors will actually make a significant trade is still up in the air if there are no players on the market they feel are worth the price. These players could be young star Jonathan Kuminga or perhaps Andrew Wiggins, who is just starting to find his groove.
