Zay Flowers of the Ravens was fined more than $10,927 for his contentious taunting call against the Chiefs.
Zay Flowers received a fine for his contentious taunt during the playoff game between the Ravens and Chiefs.
Zay Flowers, the rookie wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens, received criticism for his antics during the playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Flowers made a great play and then obviously made fun of the Kansas City defender. He was hit with a fine as a consequence of it.
Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk reports that Flowers will pay a hefty $10,927 fine to the NFL for his taunt on the Chiefs football team. For the rookie wide receiver, the first two weeks have been disastrous.
“The NFL said on Saturday that Flowers was fined $10,927 for the infraction.”
For Zay Flowers, the sequence that came after the jest was just disorganized. The Ravens were forced out of the red zone by his penalty. Finally, Flowers reached for the touchdown after Lamar Jackson completed a fantastic pass to her. Sadly, the talented wide receiver fumbled it, and the Chiefs were able to recover it in the end zone. Because of that, Flowers became frustrated and hurt his hand on the sidelines, which prevented him from helping Baltimore later in the game.
And now toss in this $10,927 fine. As they say, “When it rains, it pours,” and Zay Flowers is definitely feeling the full force of it right now. The good news is that he still has time to grow and learn from these errors. Flowers will probably be one of the best pass options available to Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, if nothing else.
All during the season, flowers remained a reliable option. He was dependable from the start and stepped up when Mark Andrews got hurt. The wide receiver for the Ravens has a promising future. especially considering that he had 858 yards and five touchdowns from 77 receptions at the end of the season. When he starts his second season of play next season, he’ll try to improve those numbers.
