According to Hull City manager Liam Rosenior, Tyler Morton’s ankle took a “kick.”
In yesterday’s John Smith’s Stadium match against Huddersfield Town, Hull City had to substitute the Liverpool loan player before winning 2-1 thanks to a last-minute goal from Jacob Greaves.
Morton, 21, has made 28 appearances for the Tigers across all competitions thus far, contributing four assists and three goals.

Hull will be praying that Morton’s injury is not too severe and that he can get back into the game quickly. It’s encouraging that it’s not a muscular problem.
The England youth international joined Rosenior’s team in the summer transfer window from Liverpool, and since then, he has been a vital member of the team.
After playing the last season in the Championship at Blackburn Rovers, he was cleared to temporarily leave the Reds in order to gain more experience.
During his time at Ewood Park, the young player participated in 46 games overall to advance his development.
Under Jurgen Klopp, Morton has advanced through the Anfield academy system and appeared in nine first-team games for his parent team.
Hull will try to maintain their momentum on Tuesday when they travel to Southampton, which should be challenging. They have won four of their last five games and have won their last two straight against Rotherham and Huddersfield.
The Tigers are tied for the most points with Norwich City and Coventry City and are only eliminated from the play-offs due to goal differential.

Hull City is hoping that Tyler Morton’s injury, sustained during the first half of their thrilling 2-1 victory over Huddersfield Town on Saturday, is just a minor knock.
The game began with the influential on-loan Liverpool midfielder receiving a kick to his ankle. He managed to play for a while, but was eventually substituted shortly after the half-hour mark. Matty Jacob took his place at right-back, with Regan Slater returning to midfield.
Following Morton’s departure, City felt his absence acutely, but manager Liam Rosenior is hoping the problem will resolve itself over the next few days before Tuesday night’s trip to automatic promotion contenders Southampton.
“After Tyler’s ankle was kicked, it grew larger. It swelled excessively. The City manager told Hull Live, “I’m not thrilled, but I’m glad it’s not a muscular injury; we just need to manage the pain and hopefully reduce the swelling.”
Rosenior started with Ozan Tufan in midfield and Regan Slater at right back. After Morton left the game, Slater went back to the middle of the park, and Matty Jacob replaced him at right back, as Rosenior’s team won 2-1 thanks to a brace from Jacob Greaves. Lewie Coyle began the game on the bench due to a hamstring issue and was eventually drafted into the action.
Rosenior said, “If you recall, I took off Coylely against Swansea.” He’s a little niggle, more of a fatigue issue, but I had to find a way because I couldn’t risk him during a three-game week. I thought Regan had a great game at right back, and then Tyler obviously went down. I considered playing Adama Traore there, but I felt that we needed a more dynamic type of midfield player, and Regan is that. So, I substituted Matty Jacob, who I trust from his right back performances, because I felt that Regan was that player.
