High majors vying for guard Nolan Traore, the 2024 international standout

You may not be familiar with 6-foot-3 French guard Nolan Traore, but he is one of the top college recruits in the 2024 class.

Indianapolis, Indiana Over the past few months, there has been a lot of talk surrounding a French guard in the 2024 class by the name of Nolan Traore.

High major programs and alternative career paths, such as the NBL and remaining in Europe, are vying for his attention. It was simple to see the intrigue after watching his film, but when I saw him in person at Basketball Without Borders, he proved to be one of the class’s best guards.

Traore is an impressive 6-foot-3, 175-pound player with a fluid, functional athleticism and skill set that make him a dynamic combo guard.

Traore said, “I think I am good to make the game fast,” describing his strategy. “I am just good at creating for myself and other people because I have that burst in me. That’s all; I’m a maker. I am somewhat of a combo guard because I can play the one and the two.”

Due to his skill and prowess on the court, Xavier, Alabama, and Gonzaga are the three highly regarded universities that have shown interest in recruiting him.

He discussed his time on each campus with 247Sports.

Alabama: “That was great. Every visit I have done has been great. I visited the facilities and whatever. They’re all great coaches.”

Gonzaga: “That was great. I met great people. I liked it. I did basic stuff like get to know everyone and their staff, see the facilities, visit the city.”

Xavier: “That was great. I met great people. Everybody was nice to me and my family. I think he [Sen Miller

] is great. He has coached a lot of people that went to the NBA so I think he is a great coach.”

Traore will be considering his professional and college options at the same time. If he decides to attend college, he will be an impact player right away.

When asked when he intended to make a choice, he replied, “I don’t know when but I will take my time and study my options.”

Overtime Elite, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound point guard from Atlanta, Georgia, was once committed to Providence, but he reopened his recruitment and is currently courting other teams.
While others are becoming more and more involved—and in the case of Providence, the Friars are re-engaging—Davis is making his official visit to Florida State today.

He provided an update on his recruitment, saying, “I go to Florida State tomorrow, I know Indiana is in the process, and Providence has reached back out.” He was aware that Georgia Tech was demonstrating genuine interest.

Davis recently led unofficials to both Georgia and Georgia Tech. Ahead of his visit to see the Seminoles, he provided more details about the current state of affairs with the Hoosiers, Friars, Georgia Tech, and Georgia as well.

Indianapolis: “I haven’t talked to them heavy but it’s there.”
