Following Southampton’s thrilling victory, Liam Rosenior sends a strong message to the Hull City team.

Liam Rosenior, the head coach of Hull City, was eager to try and manage expectations despite applauding his team for an incredible first-half performance and a determined second-half showing that resulted in a fantastic 2-1 win at Southampton and made it four away wins in a row.

With a magnificent display at St. Mary’s, City moved into the top six. Goals from Anass Zaroury and Fabio Carvalho put them ahead at the half, and they deservedly led 2-0, but the caliber of their play demanded more.

After being thoroughly outplayed in the first half, Southampton raised more questions in the second half but were unable to generate any meaningful opportunities until substitute Joe Aribo banged in a late goal two minutes from the end.

After watching his team defeat Rotherham, Huddersfield, and now the Saints in the course of a week, Rosenior was eager to try and keep feet firmly planted even though his team won three games in a row for the first time under his direction.

“We had to exercise bravery as we faced what I believe to be an exceptional team comprised of exceptional players, a squad of exceptional players, and an exceptional manager. At St Mary’s, the City manager told Hull Live, “That first half performance is exactly what I’ve been working so hard to bring to the club.”

“I believe that talking about the process for the entire time has tired all of the supporters, but after seeing that first-half performance, and

We didn’t let up until Joe Aribo scored a fantastic goal from his perspective in the 92nd minute, at which point I went 5-4-1 and attempted to hold on.

“It’s not my fault; the group had an excellent mentality. That’s up to them; they deserve all the praise I’m giving them tonight, but I don’t want to overdo the talk of coming of age. I simply see it as the next step for this team, and our next game is on Saturday, which is going to be extremely tough.

“I don’t pay attention to chats about runs. To be honest, I don’t pay attention to people discussing runs or what we can or cannot accomplish. I only pay attention to our performance, and this week has had a lot of positive elements.

“After trailing Rotherham by a goal, we battled back into the game with more than 20 shots, 11 of which were on goal. Certain members of our fan base were making offensive remarks.

“It’s amazing what a week can do. We have to make sure that we understand this is a young team. Errors are going to happen. We’ll undoubtedly make more mistakes in our possession play, but when it works, it’s entertaining to watch. It’s entertaining to watch, and I can’t wait to collaborate with this group.”
