Based on ESPN’s analytics, Auburn is expected to lose in Knoxville to Tennessee.

Without star forward Jaylin Williams, Auburn defeated the Georgia Bulldogs 97-76 in their lone game last week in Athens.

This week’s test for the Auburn Tigers will be considerably more difficult as they travel to Knoxville to play the Tennessee Volunteers. Thompson-Boling Arena is among the hardest venues to play in the SEC, much like Neville Arena.

ESPN’s matchup predictor gives the Tigers a 32.6% chance to win, meaning it doesn’t think Auburn will pull off the big road victory. It will be difficult to win this game without the seasoned Williams on the court, so players like Chad Baker-Mazara and Chaney Johnson will need to step up. Against Georgia, these two did show up, with Baker-Mazara scoring 25 points and Johnson scoring 16.

Regarding his team’s performance against Georgia, Coach Pearl said as much: “Coming in without Jaylin Williams, we had to change some things up,” Pearl explained. Thus, we started with three different players in the lineup. To begin with Among the players on the court tonight, Chad Baker-Mazara was the most exceptional. Without a doubt, he was the best player in the game tonight. trusted him to be the playmaker with the ball in his hands. He obviously makes baskets, draws fouls, and converts free throws. Of the 16 free throws we attempted tonight, seven were made by him. created them all.”
Although Auburn is not favoured to win this game, the Tigers would feel a great deal of confidence going into March if they managed to win without their second-best player in a boisterous atmosphere.
