Aw, shucks! Rising Star of the Texas Rangers Leaves After Being Handled By Pitch
Take a deep breath, Texas Rangers fans. Rising star Evan Carter, who is predicted to start for the team as a left-fielder this season, left Sunday’s spring training game after being hit by a pitch on his left hand. After taking first base and being briefly examined by trainers, Carter was replaced by Elier Hernandez, who also took over in right field.
Carter, 21, made his Major League debut on September 8 and was a key member of the Rangers World Series winning team in October. Later in the game, there should be an update on the injury’s severity. Sunday’s third Cactus League game of the season between the Rangers and the San Francisco Giants will take place at Surprise Stadium. Kyle Harrison, the left-hander for the Giants, first struck out Marcus Semien in the bottom of the first inning before getting to Carter, who also hits left. Wyatt Langford struck out on a foul tip to end the inning after Hernandez was thrown out trying to steal second.
Carter took a batting position.In 23 regular-season games, 306 with four doubles, five home runs, 12 RBI, and 15 runs. Carter made a huge splash on the baseball scene by batting in the postseason.300 with six RBI, nine doubles, a home run, and nine runs scored.
Carter stated last week at spring training that he was anxious to demonstrate his ability to produce against left-handed pitchers. In his limited exposure during the last three weeks of the 2023 regular season, Carter went 0 for 10 against lefties with a walk and six strikeouts. Despite his lack of Major League experience, MLB Pipeline still ranks Carter as the Rangers’ top prospect, and in 2024 he should be able to contribute as a regular starter.

There have been numerous gatherings and discussions.
