NFLPA publishes team report cards for 2024: How do the Dolphins compare?
All 32 of the league’s teams received annual grades from the NFLPA. What was the Dolphins’ record relative to the league?
All 32 NFL teams received grades from the NFLPA, which released their 2024 report card on Wednesday. 1,706 players responded to the grading system with their opinions about their current club. “Highlight positive clubs, identify areas that could use improvement, and highlight best practices and standards” is the union’s stated purpose for the report card. The Miami Dolphins are performing admirably across the board, based on the grades.
Eleven focus areas comprised the grading system: team travel, head coach, ownership, treatment of families, food/café, locker rooms, training rooms, training staff, nutritionists/dieticians, and strength coaches. From the previous year’s grades, the head coach, owner, and nutritionist/dietician were added to the rankings.
The players ranked the Dolphins as the best team in the league, and they dominated the rankings. Second were the Minnesota Vikings. The rankings of the two teams were reversed from the 2023 report cards. The NFLPA noted in a piece about the Vikings’ grade that Miami and Minnesota are unquestionably the best teams in the league, saying that “both Minnesota and Miami have distinguished themselves into a separate class in terms of what it means to run a world-class NFL workplace.”
The treatment of families category saw a significant improvement between 2023 and 2024, which was the largest difference in rankings. The team placed 18th in the league after receiving a C+ in that category the previous year. The size of the family area after the game was the primary source of grievances.
This year, the team mentioned that they offer nursery on gamedays and that there is a family room available at the stadium in regards to how families are treated. “Most of the players say the treatment of families has improved since last year,” the grade also said.
Regarding Miami’s ranking for 2024, the NFLPA clarified
According to the players, the Dolphins are a premier team for the second consecutive season. Any player looking for a great workplace that appears to care about the players and their families should pay attention to this team. Miami is still demonstrating to the league what it takes to be a top-tier organisation.
Stephen Ross hopes to sell a portion of the Dolphins as team values soar.
Stephen Ross, the owner of the Dolphins, wants to walk away from part of the ownership while maintaining control over his NFL team.
Ross recently stated that he “never dreamed we’d be so fast at the valuations that are out there today” and that he is “looking at now to monetize a portion” of the team. Through Sports Business Journal, Bloomberg News provided the remarks.
In less than two years, two new franchise sales records have been set: the Commanders sold for $6.05 billion, and the Broncos went for $4.65 billion.
The average team will soon be worth $8 billion to $10 billion, according to a source who told PFT several years ago and was knowledgeable about the dynamics of franchise values.

More importantly, the owners hold the equity. The players do not — and never will.
And the value of the equity keeps going up. And up. And up.
