West Virginia Mountaineers Hire Former FSU Football Staff Member

The former employee of the Seminoles is advancing his collegiate coaching career.
There are still a few decisions being made in preparation for the commencement of spring practice, even though the coaching carousel is mostly finished.

Tre’ Bell, the cornerbacks coach at Akron and a former graduate assistant at Florida State, was hired by West Virginia on Tuesday to work as a defensive analyst. Bell leaves the Zips after two years and joins the Mountaineers. He was coaching three All-MAC picks in his first on-field coaching role at the FBS level, and he made the most of it.

As a graduate assistant in 2021, Bell worked for one season at Florida State under former defensive backs coach Marcus Woodson. NFL Draft choice Jammie Robinson was coached by Bell in his only season with the Seminoles.
The native of New Jersey spent two years as a graduate assistant at Mississippi State before relocating to Tallahassee. In 2019, he served as a coach under Joe Moorhead before remaining for an additional year under Mike Leach.

In 2018, Bell started working with the defensive backs at Eastern Kentucky as a quality control coach. Bell has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL in addition to his time in college. During training camp, he collaborated with the Steelers as part of the Bill

He was a collegiate athlete for UConn and Vanderbilt. Between his tenure with the Commodores and Huskies, Bell racked up 82 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception, three forced fumbles, and four pass deflections. His master’s degree was obtained from Mississippi State, and his bachelor’s degree was obtained from UConn.
