INDIA PARK — Terrion Arnold doesn’t meet a critical need for the Broncos. They have a young, talented slot cornerback in Ja’Quan McMillian, a recent All-Pro in Pat Surtain II, and a 2023 third-round pick in Riley Moss, who general manager George Paton has identified as an NFL starter.
However, in a draft class that may yield as many as six first-round picks at cornerback, the Alabama product stands a good chance of being the first pick taken. It was therefore expected that the Broncos would interview Arnold formally. On Thursday, Arnold informed the media that he had scheduled interviews of this kind with twenty-five teams.
PLAYING FOR THE BRONCOS WOULD BE SPECIAL FOR TERRION ARNOLD. and it has nothing to do with Arnold’s unique connection to Denver. He was raised in Tallahassee, Florida, his entire childhood and high school career.
Pat Surtain II, a fellow Alabama product, is available to the Broncos.
“Being beside Pat would be similar to being beside Kool-Aid,” Arnold remarked, referencing his teammate from Alabama, Kool-Aid McKinstry, who is also a first-round prospect in this year’s class.
You would have someone to hold up to and push you to improve, someone you could look up to at the next level. He has NFL experience already. So, if I had the chance, I would really like to do that.
Arnold and Surtain missed each other by a year of missing each other’s games together at Alabama.
“Pat performs everything incredibly well. That being said, I used to watch his old tape to see how he used to practise’, Arnold remarked. We like to say at Alabama that Pat is a robot. He never panics and will step-step to get to the person he’s protecting, be it Tyreek Hill, Devonta Smith, or Jaylen Waddle.
“Pat, he really is the best cornerback in the league at the moment.”
Arnold aspires to get there, or at the very least, be the best student in an excellent class.
Arnold recalled, “I actually talked to him around this time coming up.” “We were at Jordan Battle’s draft party, and while I was watching it with Pat, I told him, ‘I’m going to be the best corner in the class coming out next year.'”
