Slugger of the Red Sox, worth $5 million, is expected to win AL MVP.

They’ve won seven of their last thirteen games, the bullpen is outperforming, and O’Neill is generating talk about being the American League MVP.

On April 9, Craig Breslow informed Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com that Story would require surgery and would be out of commission for at least six months. of Bleacher Report deserves credit for the “knee-jerk” response. In a column published on April 11, he promoted the O’Neill-MVP agenda.

Miller is taken aback by the Red Sox slugger’s ability to build on a solid Opening Day showing, but this is expected.

Opening Day is when the 26-year-old always hits a home run, but he rarely stays hot, according to Miller. “In fact, he hasn’t had multiple home runs in his team’s first 11 games since 2020, much less five of them.

Miller is drawn to O’Neill’s large number of hits rather than their caliber.

“They’ve all been solo shots so far,” Miller continued. However, O’Neill had a one-run lead over Mike Trout in the MLB standings for home runs and slugging percentage (.906) going into Wednesday. He is working for a new team in a new league that is off to a hotter start than anticipated.

For an actual MVP campaign to take off, Boston and O’Neill must both achieve mutual success. However, after 13 games, things are going well.

O’Neill is still slashing even after losing 0–4 to the Baltimore Orioles that evening.

308/.460/.769, all of which represent career bests.

It appears that the Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals made a trade that sent O’Neill to Fenway Park, but it wasn’t entirely fair.

Boston’s best slugger isn’t included in the list of possible AL MVP winners and their odds on FanDuel as of April 12. Rafael Devers, a third baseman, is ranked 16th with +4000 odds.

Boston Winning the Trade with O’Neill
O’Neill has made 50 plate appearances and six home runs through 12 games this season.

The Cardinals have 11 home runs in 484 plate appearances through 13 games this season.

The two pitching prospects sent in exchange for O’Neill, Nick Robertson and Victor Santos, have a combined record of 0-2 in Triple-A ball this year.

Boston has seven victories.

Six wins for St. Louis.

At worst, this is a win-win situation.

Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow says it will be a home run off the diamond if O’Neill can maintain the pace.

After the team’s starting shortstop got hurt, he might need to pull off another.

Trevor Story to Premiere This Season
Boston is in disarray following Trevor Story’s left shoulder fractured glenoid bone.

While diving for a ground ball hit by Mike Trout in an April 5 game against the Los Angeles Angels, the two-time All-Star and Silver Slugger landed on his shoulder.

The Cardinals have 11 home runs in 484 plate appearances through 13 games this season.

The two pitching prospects who were submitted were Nick Robertson and Victor Santos.

On April 9, Craig Breslow informed Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com that Story would require surgery and would be out of commission for at least six months.

“We had discussed some concern over his bony structure after speaking with our medical staff further, getting confirmation on a second opinion, and Trevor’s decision to proceed,” Breslow said. “He needs surgery on Friday to fix the glenoid rim fracture that he has.”

The timeline of the story will begin at six months.

The Red Sox have a lot of young talent coming through the pipeline, so they aren’t committed to any one solution in the interim. Instead, they will investigate options on the trade market.
