“Injury carnage” for bunnies; Trbojevic’s hamstring strain: NRL Casualty Ward

The loss of three players in Saturday’s match against the Cronulla Sharks has left the South Sydney Rabbitohs with an expanding casualty ward.

For South Sydney, Tyrone Munro and Tevita Tatola were sidelined for eighty minutes due to what reporter James Hooper called “injury carnage.”

Munro sustained a collarbone injury, and Tatola was seen wearing a boot following an ankle injury he sustained during the game.

Then, Cameron Murray was eliminated after a head injury evaluation came back negative.

Boom back-rower turned center Ben Trbojevic will be feeling the pain in his hamstring after he had a huge game against the Warriors.

Trbojevic, who has been outstanding in the back row, pulled up lame late in Manly’s surprising victory over the Warriors, causing him to clutch at his hamstring.
In addition, Toafofoa Sipley (knee), Lachlan Croker (shoulder), Ethan Bullemor (face), and Haumole Olakau’atu (back) disclosed to the media following the game that their injuries occurred on Saturday.

The confirmation that Matt Lodge, Jason Saab, Nathan Brown, and Reuben Garrick will all be back for the Titans game the following week offset that news, though.

Seibold remarked, “It’s a pretty beat up changeroom.”

Jazz Tevaga (hamstring) will be out of the Warriors’ lineup for “a bit of time,” according to

After just 20 minutes of their Friday night game against the Broncos, flying fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow suffered a hamstring injury, dealing a serious blow to the Dolphins.

The “Hammer” was hurt while attempting to pursue Brisbane winger Corey Oates; as a result, he pulled up short and was unable to play for the rest of the game.

In Fox Sport commentary, Corey Parker stated, “He won’t be back this evening; it is a hamstring injury; we thought it was a hip but it was a hammy.”

Herbie Farnworth, Felise Kaufusi, and Thomas Flegler were already out for the Dolphins, and Wayne Bennett was dealing with a severely thinned-out lineup.

After just four minutes of play, Storm enforcer Tui Kamikamica was forced to leave the game due to a calf injury.

The Fijian international has been a pillar of support for middle forwards under Craig Bellamy, but he may now be sidelined for some time.

In the middle of the park, Alec MacDonald took his place.

PONGA’S HUMAN DAMAGE

Following a kickoff against the Roosters, Kalyn Ponga was visibly uncomfortable, which has left the Knights facing yet another injury nightmare.

Ponga was seen clutching at what appears to be a suspected hip pointer injury and wincing in agony after striking the ball after Daniel Tupou’s try.

“He appears to be in discomfort, exhibiting a slight limp… his lack of comfort is concerning for Newcastle,” commented Mick Ennis.

“He has been everything to them since the beginning of this year; they can’t lose him.”

According to Lara Pitt of Fox League, the fullback with a gun had taken painkillers at halftime and the Knights had added padding to his hip.

After the intermission, Ponga took the field and was clearly moving more comfortably.

In the meantime, Sitili Tupouniua, who will probably miss 11 days due to a category one head knock, also left the field for the Roosters.

After this week’s bye, Nathan Cleary may not be available to the Panthers right away. The star halfback is reportedly questionable for the Round 7 matchup against the Tigers and beyond.

Cleary has experienced a setback, with his hamstring injury healing more slowly than expected, according to the SMH.

Penrith have emphasized that Cleary’s recovery isn’t going as quickly as they would have liked, not that he has aggravated his hamstring.

Next weekend, the Panthers take on the Tigers, followed by a trip to Townsville for Round 8 and a meeting with the Cowboys.

With a win over the Roosters and a crushing loss to the Sea Eagles the previous week, Penrith is now 1-1 without Cleary.

Nathan Cleary, the star halfback, is reportedly questionable for the Panthers’ Round 7 matchup against the Tigers and beyond, so the team may not get him right away following this week’s bye.

The SMH reports that Cleary has experienced a setback, with his hamstring injury healing more slowly than expected.

Penrith have made it clear that Cleary hasn’t strained his hamstring; rather, they are just disappointed with how slowly his recovery is going.

The Panthers’ next game is against the Tigers, and then they travel to Townsville for Round 8 to play the Cowboys.

Penrith is 1-1 without Cleary, having defeated the Roosters prior to suffering a crushing defeat to the Sea Eagles the previous week.
