Blue Jays turn the corner against the Rockies, and they’re ready for the Bronx Bombers.

With three significant hits from Justin Turner and another outstanding outing from José Berríos, the Jays defeated the Colorado Rockies 5-0 at the Rogers Centre on Sunday to improve to 8-8 on the season. They won the three-game series after an ugly 12-4 loss on Friday night.

Seven innings of two-hit shutout ball were pitched by Berríos, who also struck out two batters. Turner increased his on-base plus slugging percentage to 1.095 while the right-hander went to 3-0 and posted a sparkling 1.05 ERA.

With a two-out RBI single in the first inning, the bearded redhead gave the Jays the lead. He would later add an RBI double in the third and another run-scoring safety in the fifth.

“Friday was obviously unpleasant and didn’t turn out the way we had hoped. After the game, Turner stated, “I think it says a lot about the club and where we’re at. But the resilience, the bounceback to go out and salvage two games.” “The offense only scratches the surface in a sense. I believe we still have a ton of energy left, and once we start to fire on all cylinders, it will be exciting to play.

At least four runs have been scored by the Jays in six of

After only doing so twice in their first eight games, the Jays have scored at least four runs in six of their past eight games. They have successfully navigated the most difficult ten percent of the season (13 of their first 16 games were against teams that were predicted to make the playoffs). This Monday, they will not only host the New York Yankees to finish their first homestand, but they will also welcome back three key players to the active roster.

After completing their rehab assignments, all-star closer Jordan Romano, catcher Danny Jansen, and setup man Erik Swanson should be activated off the injured list by Tuesday at the latest.

Jansen, who might be in the starting lineup on Monday, caught three at Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday but only went 1-for-2.

After that game in Buffalo, Jansen remarked, “It was one of those things where it’s off the end of the bat and it’s a little zinger.” “Those things are always a good test to have. After that, I felt OK.

Since his arrival in 2018, Jansen’s work with the pitching staff has been highly praised, and he has been referred to as the team’s heartbeat. However, the Jays are also anticipating the thunder in the Wisconsinite’s bat, as fellow backstop Alejandro Kirk is only 8-for-47 to begin the season and is still searching for his first extra-base hit.

Kevin Gausman, a right-hander scheduled to play in the series, stated, “I think last year he would have hit 20 homers if he would have stayed even slightly more healthy.”

Jansen was limited to 86 games last season due to a groin strain and then a broken finger, but he still hit a career-high 17 home runs.

Gausman exclaimed, “We’re thrilled to have him back.” He has been a great asset to us. Someone who can hit home runs and call a great game when they are on the field.
On Thursday and Saturday, Romano and Swanson made appearances with the Bisons and declared themselves fit and prepared. Swanson experienced tightness in his forearms, while Romano experienced elbow inflammation around the halfway point of their spring training
