Knicks News: With the playoffs approaching, Mitchell Robinson provides an encouraging injury update.

Injuries haven’t come easy for the New York Knicks in 2023–24. OG Anunoby had elbow surgery in February but recovered in March, Julius Randle dislocated his shoulder in January, Mitchell Robinson had ankle surgery in December but recovered in March, and Isaiah Hartenstein has struggled with a persistent Achilles injury.

Fans had to deal with yet another injury scare on Sunday. In the second half of the Knicks’ overtime victory over the Bulls, Robinson did not play. In response to a question regarding Robinson’s status, Thibodeau said that the head coach only knew that the center wasn’t available.

Robinson reported that his ankle felt fine and that he fully participated in Tuesday’s practice.

In New York’s first-round series against Cleveland the previous year, Robinson was dominant. This year, he will be a substitute player as Hartenstein will still start at center. The Knicks were fortunate that Robinson returned this season despite their numerous injury setbacks.

Having him come off the bench will help New York a lot because they’ll need to figure out how to stop Bam Adebayo or Joel Embiid.

– Jalen Brunson, who averaged 38.5 points and 7.5 assists per game on 50% shooting from the field, was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Throughout the regular season, the point guard received this honor four times.

RJ Barrett, a former forward for the Knicks, discussed OG Anunoby in his Raptors farewell interview on Monday.

With a calf strain, Antetokounmpo last played on April 9. He was not present for a few games during the Bucks’ previous year’s first-round series against the Heat.
