With rising star first baseman out, the Boston Red Sox’s injury woes continue.

The Boston Red Sox have had an interesting season that will likely continue to pique interest. The Red Sox offense hits home runs and their bullpen performs well enough to win more games, all contributing to their pitching team’s historic start. After Triston Casas’ injury, the Red Sox are making an especially intriguing move because their roster is so thin. His ribs hurt, so he had to leave the game on Saturday. Manager Alex Cora then made some concerning remarks after the game.

The Boston Red Sox calling up catcher Tyler Heineman to the major leagues gives people hope that Triston Casas is on the disabled list. Given that there are no more position players available on the 40-man roster, the Red Sox are in desperate need of assistance.

The Red Sox roster is ravaged by injuries, especially in the infield, which results in subpar defensive performance that costs them games. It began at the end of Spring Training when newly acquired Vaughn Grissom was placed on the shelf. It’s Trevor Story’s last day of the year. Shortly after being called up, Romy Gonzalez was placed on the reserve list, and Rafael Devers and Tyler O’Neill had a rough collision. O’Neill was placed on the concussion list as a result, and Devers’ knee injury has kept him sidelined.

Not to mention the pitchers who hold water while lowering their arms to the left and right.

In 2023, Triston Casas continued where he left off. Currently batting.244/.337/.513 with three doubles and six home runs. With an OPS+ of 138, he ranks third among Red Sox hitters. With 10 RBIs, the 24-year-old leads the Boston Red Sox. Triston Casas has an OPS of.850, but aside from Conner Wong, who shares time with Reese McGuire and Tyler O’Neill, no other regular in the lineup has an OPS of more than.800.

The lineup certainly looks like what the Worcester Red Sox would wear in Triple-A without Triston Casas in it every day. The Red Sox offense depends heavily on him, so his absence will be felt throughout the lineup.

Triston Casas is performing above average and is in the 98th percentile for outs.
