Mets Ace Makes Significant Progress Towards Playing Again After Serious Injury
Although they are currently playing well, the New York Mets have the potential to improve in the near future.
With a record of 12-10 thus far this season, New York holds third position in the National League East. The fact that the Mets have accomplished this while playing without their best pitcher, Kodai Senga, due to an injury, only serves to highlight the situation.
When Senga’s shoulder injury was revealed, there was genuine concern that he might miss the entire 2024 season, but it appears that this won’t be the case. According to SNY, Senga has been undergoing treatment, and he recently made significant progress by throwing a bullpen.
“Kodai Senga and Tylor Megill, who are both coping with injuries to their shoulders, have recently made significant progress,” SNY stated. Senga threw his second bullpen session on Friday. He currently has a moderate strain in his right posterior capsule.
Senga’s next challenge might be taking on live hitters; this could be his last test before starting a rehabilitation assignment. Senga was placed on the 60-day injured list earlier this month so that the Mets could make room on the 40-man roster. On May 27, he is permitted to return.”
The perception of the Mets could drastically shift if they can maintain this level of play and add Senga to the team by the end of May. Many predicted they would struggle this season, but they appear to be capable of contending for a postseason spot based on their outstanding performance thus far. A robust Senga could contribute to elaborating on this idea even more.
