Coventry City Notepad: Transfer A heartfelt gesture, a striker in motion, and jokes that never stop
This week’s Coventry City news from CoventryLive features an analysis of events occurring within and around the club by Sky Blues writer Andy Turner.

Coventry City will play their first Championship game on Tuesday night at the CBS Arena against mid-table Bristol City. The Sky Blues should be back to full strength as Mark Robins looks to pick up three more points to help maintain their position in the play-offs after a number of opponents challenged their current sixth-place standing.

Sunderland, Hull, Norwich, Watford, and Middlesbrough are all in close contention for another shot at promotion, and one subpar showing could drop City to the bottom of the pack. Bristol travels to the West Midlands without much thought. They forced an FA Cup replay over the weekend by holding Premier League Nottingham Forest to a goalless draw, despite beating West Ham in the third round after two attempts.

Following a number of players’ Friday night rest at Hillsborough, Coventry looks to extend their amazing 11-game unbeaten run across all competitions. They ought to be prepared to face the Robins.

That starts with the initial decision in the objective. Brad Collins is expected to be replaced in the starting lineup on Friday by Ben Wilson, who participated in the match against Sheffield on Wednesday.

Furthermore, it is expected that City will switch back to a four-man defense, with Jake Bidwell starting at left back and Milan van Ewijk at right. Liam Kitching and Bobby Thomas will probably return to their central defensive duo. On Friday night, Bidwell did not see action as a substitute, and Van Ewijk entered the game at halftime.

Ben Sheaf should be able to return to the squad after being substituted out in the previous game. Who will be his midfield partner for City is the crucial question.
