After giving in to the Dolphins, Parramatta is preparing for a week of “tough conversations,” but head coach Brad Arthur would not say whether or not to bench players following the team’s 44-16 thrashing.

The Eels lost badly at Dar win’sTIO Stadium, giving up 40 points in the second half and collapsing in a heap for the second time in three weeks.

After the break, the undermanned Dolphins ran in eight tries to one, making them especially lethal from a distance.

Arthur claimed that the Eels were a “part-time footy side” that “gave up” when the pressure from the Dolphins got to be too much for them.

We are currently a part-time football team, which is why our season isn’t going well,” he stated.

Because the second half wasn’t good enough, we pick and choose when we want to play and when we want to make a hard or soft decision during the 80 minutes.
It was that simple: everything got too hard and too fast for us, and we gave up.

“At this club, there are currently very few players who choose to come in every week to play with the right mentality and toughness… and who want to be an NRL player every week in addition to being an 80-minute football player.”
