Kenny Brooks and the Kentucky Wildcats have struck again!

On Sunday, Charlotte 49ers transfer Dazia Lawrence committed to the Wildcats.

Lawrence announced the news on Instagram. Tennessee, Marquette, and North Carolina were among the schools Kentucky beat out for her signature.

“Thank you to everyone that helped me throughout this journey, all of the institutions that reached out, and the support along the way” Lawrence wrote. “This decision was one of the hardest I ever had to make. This decision was for me. To new beginnings.”

The 5-foot-8 Lawrence was a First-Team All-American Athletic Conference last season after averaging 18.2 points on 42.6% shooting (31.3% on 3-pointers), 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 steals in 33 minutes per game. The North Carolina native was originally a class of 2019 recruit who has one year of eligibility remaining as a sixth-year senior next season.

Kentucky is now set to have Lawrence ,jordan Obi, Georgia Amoore, Clara Silva, Amelia Hassett, Teonni Key, Lexi Blue, Clara Strack, Saniah Tyler, Cassidy Rowe, and Tanah Becker on the 2024-25 roster. That certainly looks like a group capable of getting this program back to the NCAA Tournament and making a deep run there. Coach Brooks has something special brewing in the Bluegrass.
