Just before halftime on October 7, Simon Oakley collapsed while watching the home game against Rotherham.
After suffering a spinal injury and staying at Southampton General Hospital, Mr. Oakley, of Oslo Towers in Weston, sadly passed away on November 13.
Since then, the football team has spearheaded the 59-year-old’smemorials.
“Everyone at Southampton Football Club stands united in solidarity and extends our deepest condolences to the grieving family,” a representative for the Saints said.
“The Saints community and club officials have stood by the family, offering support and comfort throughout this difficult journey.”
The club expressed gratitude for the attention and support provided to Mr. Oakley after his fall at the stadium.
The spokesperson went on, saying, “We are incredibly appreciative of the stewards, paramedics, and medical professionals who responded promptly and gave unwavering dedication to the immediate care provided.
Furthermore, we appreciate the kind deeds of other local supporters whose cooperation made it possible for an efficient medical response.
“We’ll keep paying tribute to Simon’s memory and will do everything in our power to help him through this trying time.
“Simon, rest in peace. A saint is a saint forever.
Net tributes to Mr. Oakley have been pouring in.
Gary Winser declared that he would “never forget” the instant he witnessed him pass out.
Gary posted a message on the Daily Echo’s Facebook page, saying, “RIP.
“I will always remember sitting by the spot where he fell.
“My deepest sympathies to his friends and family.”
In addition, Barry Biddis was following Southampton FC.
“I saw what happened that day,” he declared.
