Ugonna Onyenso had surgery on his injured foot/ankle, according to KSR’s Ryan Lemond. The nature of the procedure and the duration of the sophomore center’s recovery are unknown.

It wouldn’t be shocking if the Kentucky Wildcats expressed interest in other transfer big men, as both Aaron Bradshaw and Onyenso are currently recuperating from surgeries related to lower-leg injuries. As summer classes end and more players graduate and become eligible to be grad transfers, it is widely anticipated that more transfers will surface in the upcoming weeks.

More importantly, let’s hope that Onyenso recovers quickly.

Hopefully, Onyenso will be ready for the Kentucky basketball season to begin in 2023–2024. If Onyenso can maintain his health and take a significant step forward with the Cats, it seems like a very promising one.
