The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have honored five players who have left the team after fulfilling their last obligations to the organization.
Curtis Sironen, Moses Suli, Tevita Funa, Jack Gosiewski, and Zac Saddler were all given recognition during the Sunshine Coast Club’s recent Presentation Dinner.
All five players are appreciated by the Sea Eagles for their positive contributions both on and off the field, and we wish them the best of luck in the future.
After making his NRL debut in 2012 as an eighteen-year-old five-eighth for the Wests Tigers, Curtis Sironen joined the Sea Eagles in 2017.
Following two difficult years at Manly due to injury, Sironen played 22 games in 2019 and proved himself to be a capable back-rower alongside Joel Thompson.
A well-liked teammate, Sironen appeared in 66 Manly games and scored 17 tries, including a pair in the 30–12 victory over the Gold Coast Titans in 2019 that marked the 100th NRL game.
After six NRL games for South Sydney, Jack Gosiewski joined the Sea Eagles in 2018 in search of more opportunities.
The second-rower made 46 appearances for Manly, with 2019 being his best season with 19 appearances.
Gosiewski led the Sea Eagles with 11 tries scored.
2018 saw Moses Suli sign with the Manly Sea Eagles after stints with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Wests Tigers.
Over the previous four seasons, the hard-running center made a name for himself in the Sea Eagles defense; he played in 22 games in 2019, his most reliable year.
Suli scored 12 tries for the Sea Eagles in 63 games.
Moses will be freed from the last year of his contract by agreement with the Club.
Tevita Funa, who was a key member of the Sea Eagles U20s premiership winning team in 2017, made his NRL debut for Manly in 2020.
Funa won the Club’s Rookie of the Year award last season after making a strong NRL debut against Brisbane at Central Coast Stadium with five tries in 12 games.
Zac Saddler, who played for the Sea Eagles in the U20s and NSW Cup for Blacktown Workers, joined Manly from the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
After making his NRL debut this season against the Warriors, the gifted young prop played three games in the Sea Eagles’ first grade.
In2020 and2021, Zac played for the Indigenous All Stars.
