ATHENS, Georgia — After two individuals connected to the University of Georgia football program perished in an overnight crash, sadness swept through Georgia and Bulldog country on Sunday.

While spending the night in Athens, twenty-year-old offensive lineman Devin Willock and twenty-four-year-old football staff member Chandler LeCroy passed away. Although they were injured in the crash, a staff member and another player are anticipated to recover.

Twenty-year-old offensive lineman Devin Willock and twenty-four-year-old football staff member Chandler LeCroy passed away during an overnight trip in Athens. Despite their injuries, a staff member and another player from the crash are thought to recover.

A woman who heard the crash occur outside her house is similarly shocked.

Pangburn heard the collision that occurred along Barnett Schoals Road in Athens at around 2:45 a.m., according to Athens-Clarke County Police.

“I’m not even sure what happened because they struck a tree, a light pole, a power line, and then the building.” Then they find themselves in the car’s rear,” Pangburn stated.

According to investigators, LeCroy was the driver at the time of the collision.
