Louisville has officially announced the roster addition of Georgia transfer Frank Anselem-Ibe. The 6-foot-10, 220-pound big man, who committed to the Cardinals on May 21, has one year of eligibility remaining.

“Frank has been efficient at the high-major level over the past four years,” said Kelsey. “He’s a tough, athletic center that will be a producer on the court and a leader off of it. Frank brings a veteran presence with a maturity that others will be able to lean on throughout the season. Not only is he an established rim protector, but he’s also an exceptional student, leader and person.”

As noted in the official UofL release, the Lagos, Nigeria, native has spent the last two seasons in Athens, Ga., with the Bulldogs. In 2023-24 when he played in 29 games, he averaged 9.1 minutes per outing, scoring 2.6 points with 2.1 rebounds. In 2022-23, Anselem-Ibe appeared in 31 contests, averaging 14.6 minutes per game. He pulled down 3.3 boards on average while scoring 2.9 points per game.

Speaking to 247Sports following his commitment to Louisville, Anselem-Ibe highlighted Kelsey’s energy as a key reason behind his decision to become a Cardinal.

“He’s a very wired guy, he’s intense but that’s the price you have to pay if you want to win,” he said of Kelsey. “You’re not going to lallygag, you have to be ready and you have to be locked in, you have to know what you’re doing to play for a guy like him. He’s won everywhere he has been at and at this point we are hoping to do the same thing at Louisville.”

Anselem-Ibe played in 31 games and started six times during his first season with the Bulldogs in 2022-23. He averaged 2.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and a team-high 0.9 blocks per game with 14.6 minutes per contest.

Anselem played in 32 games with six starts for Syracuse during the 2021-22 season. He averaged 2.5 points and 3.8 rebounds with 14.2 minutes per game while shooting 62.5 percent from the field.
