£200,000-A-WEEK PLAYER WANTS BIGGER CLUB THAN WEST HAM AMID TOTTENHAM INTEREST

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire reportedly prefers a bigger club than West Ham United amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have been linked with Manchester United central defender Harry Maguire in the summer transfer window.

The Times has reported that the Hammers’ £20 million bid for the £200,000-a-week England international centre-back has been turned down by the Red Devils.

The report has added that Maguire would “prefer to play for a bigger club” than West Ham.

The Sun reported earlier this month interest from Tottenham in the 30-year-old.

The British tabloid claimed that Chelsea, West Ham and Newcastle United are also keen on the 30-year-old.

Tottenham Hotspur have better chance of signing Harry Maguire than West Ham United

In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur have a better chance of signing Manchester United defender Harry Maguire than West Ham United.

Tottenham regularly challenge for the Premier League top four and are one of the biggest clubs in England.

Spurs will be determined to end up in the UEFA Champions League places in the Premier League table next season.

True, West Ham won the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, but the Hammers almost got relegated from the Premier League.

It is hard to see David Moyes’s side challenge for the Premier League top four next season.

Yes, the Hammers will play in the UEFA Europa League next season, but Maguire has played in the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United, so he is unlikely to be too keen on playing in the ‘second tier’ European competition.

Maguire has made 219 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The defender has scored 11 goals, given eight assists and kept 56 clean sheets in those matches.

BREAKING NEWS : Tottenham player has been ‘frozen out’ by Postecoglou in pre-season

Report: Tottenham player has been ‘frozen out’ by Postecoglou in pre-season

Alasdair Gold has revealed on Football.London that Joe Rodon appears to have been frozen out by Ange Postecoglou.

It has been widely reported right from the start of the summer that Spurs are expected to make wholesale changes in central defence, with Rodon named as one of the players likely to leave (Evening Standard).

Much to the frustration of some Tottenham fans, the club are yet to sign any centre-backs this summer but it now looks like some outgoings might be just around the corner.

Postecoglou himself confirmed on Tuesday that Davinson Sanchez is exploring his options (Charlie Eccleshare).

Rodon could now be on his way out of Tottenham

Gold has now revealed that Rodon is expected to follow Sanchez out of the door this summer.

He explains that the centre-back has been ‘seemingly frozen out’ under Postecoglou, with the Wales international allegedly being forced to train with those players coming back from injury and those who are not expected to feature in matches.

The journalist states that the former Swansea man has not been part of the practice matches in the training ground in Australia, Thailand and Singapore.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is not surprising that Postecoglou does not see Rodon as part of his plans on the back of the 25-year-old’s disappointing loan spell at Rennes.

Apart from the newly promoted sides like Luton Town, I cannot see any other Premier League side vying for the Welshman’s signature this summer.
