Horseheads are defeated in the FURYous ’24 youth softball tournament, with Fury Fastpitch taking home the titles.
New York’s Horseheads (WETM) – Some of the best youth softball teams in the nation visited the Holding Point Complex in Horseheads.

After a busy weekend in Horseheads, the FURYous ’24 youth softball tournament concluded on Sunday. 27 of the top teams from Pennsylvania, New York, and Canada participated in the tournament, traveling to the Twin Tiers to compete for hardware and advance their abilities. Fury Fastpitch Softball hosted the event this year, which gave young players a fantastic chance to have fun and improve their skills.

Alex Melville, the head coach of Fury ’11, told 18 Sports that having a competition like this lets his players show off their talents in front of family,

“It’s simply a wonderful chance to be local and have family members who are unable to travel here in attendance,” Melville remarked. This allows parents and grandparents to see a little bit of what these girls get up to on a travel weekend. With so many amazing teams and talent, this is truly a great place to be.

Head coach of the Silver Bullets 12U softball team in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Mike Tate, echoed Melville’s remarks when he described how the team took advantage of the tournament to strengthen their roster.

Tate stated, “This is a positive experience for our team. We’ve had a great chance to test out our girls playing a variety of positions because we’re short on players.

In general, playing against teams from outside the area makes them somewhat more mature and forces them to keep up with their rivals’ caliber.

Kaos 12U softball traveled from Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania for the tournament, seeing it as an opportunity to play at a high level and make new friends. Assistant coach Brandon Hackett expressed his excitement for his team and expressed admiration for the annual event.

According to Hackett, “it’s a great tournament with great talent and a good turnout.” Seeing our girls develop, learn new skills, and interact with teams from other regions is incredibly enjoyable.

The hosts won all of the hardware in the tournament action. The teams that won the trophies in the 10U, 12U, and 14U Divisions were Fury Fastpitch Softball. Fury Fastpitch provided the team photos, which are listed below for each winning squad.

18 Sports would like to congratulate all of the coaches and athletes from the FURYous 24′ Tournament this past weekend.
