Prop Mitch Barnett has signed a two-year extension that keeps him at the Warriors until the end of the 2027 season.

Fresh off his inclusion in the NSW Blues squad for Origin One, Barnett’s stocks continue to rise as he churns out 151 run metres per game in 2024.

Joining the club from Newcastle last season, the 30-year-old was originally signed on a three-year deal to the end of 2025.

“Having Mitch on board for the next three seasons is so important for the club,” said Warriors general manager recruitment, pathways and development Andrew McFadden.

“He’s a terrific asset, representing all the qualities we want to see in our players.”

The Titans, meanwhile, have signed Wallabies flyhalf Carter Gordon for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

The former Melbourne Rebels playmaker has played eight times for the Wallabies, making his international debut against the Springboks in 2023 and said he was excited to make the switch to rugby league.

“I’m excited with the direction that rugby league is taking and the positive feeling around the game,” Gordon said.

“At 23, I feel like I had to take this opportunity now. I’m under no illusions and understand that this will be a massive challenge.”

Elsewhere, emerging forward Trey Mooney will remain at the Raiders until at least the end of the 2027 season after signing a three-year contract extension.

The 22-year-old has been one of the big improvers for Canberra in 2024 and has played their last seven matches off the bench since returning to the NRL team in Round 6.

“I’m happy to extend my time here. This is a family club and something I want to be a part of going forward,” Mooney said on the extension.

“I’ve spent some time behind a lot of good forwards here. Hopefully, I’m making my mark slowly and still fighting for a spot and I’m just happy to be playing consistent footy at the moment.”

The Sea Eagles have signed forward Nathan Brown to a contract extension through to the end of 2026.
