Newcastle United inch closer to completing two attacking signings

Newcastle United are poised to bolster their attacking options with the signings of William Osula and Noni Madueke

Eddie Howe is keen on reinforcing his squad before the start of the new season as Newcastle United look to bounce back after a disappointing campaign last time out. According to a report from Football Insider, the Magpies are closing in on two attacking signings. They are all set to complete the signing of Sheffield United forward William Osula while a deal for Chelsea’s Noni Madueke has also been initiated.

William Osula to join Chelsea

While the Tyneside club already have some quality up top in attack, Howe wants to add more quality. He wants to further strengthen the rotation and have more tactical options at his disposal.

William Osula’s impressive rise at Sheffield United hasn’t gone unnoticed. The 21-year-old striker was involved in 21 Premier League games last season. While he couldn’t save the South Yorkshire club from getting relegated, he did put himself on the radar of Newcastle who have now struck a deal for his services.

The Championship club have accepted a £15 million bid for the young forward who prefers playing down the middle but can also feature out wide on the right. Personal terms have been agreed upon and the player is all set to complete his move to St James’ Park with a medical imminent.

Newcastle also pushing for Noni Madueke

They have also held talks with Chelsea for the services of Noni Madueke who hasn’t been able to hit the ground running since joining the Blues at the start of 2023. While he still has six years left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, the 22-year-old is reportedly keen on a move to the Magpies.

Newcastle are pushing for a new right winger amidst uncertainty over the future of Miguel Amiron who could be heading to the Middle East. While they haven’t struck a deal with the London club for Madueke’s signature, talks between the two rival clubs are still alive and it could take shape in the coming days.
