Newcastle sign Spanish talent on a free transfer – Introducing new recruit Mo Sedibeh

Newcastle United have recruited two more young talents to our Academy ranks, with NUFC Blog revealing that Muhamadou Sedibeh and Kyle Fitzgerald have joined the club’s U21 ranks.

Fitzgerald signs from Galway United – although he may return to the Irish side for the remainder of 2024 and return in January – and becomes the second Irishman to join this summer alongside Rory Finneran.

However, another youth recruit to discuss is Mo Sedibeh, who arrives from Bradford City on a free transfer and featured in the U21s’ 1-1 draw with South Shields on Sunday afternoon alongside fellow new boy Fitzgerald.

The 18-year-old forward is a Spanish citizen who’s also eligible to represent Gambia. Sedibeh, who can play up top or as an attacking midfielder, had been with the Bantams for several years, representing the West Yorkshire club from U16 to U19 level before departing this summer.

The League Two side will not receive a fee following his move to Tyneside on a free transfer, with Newcastle acting quickly to land Sedibeh after youth scouts from Nottingham Forest and Leeds both watched the teenager prior to his departure.

He will link up with our U21s for the 2024/25 Premier League 2 campaign and becomes one of several talents to arrive this summer following moves for Rory Finneran (Blackburn),

Kyle Fitzgerald (Galway United), Aaron Epia (Everton) Ezra Tika-Lemba (West Ham), Kayden Lucas (Clevedon Town) and goalkeeper James Taylor (Hemel Hempstead).
