It’s important to mention all of this because it appears that Black Sabbath is preparing to play a formal farewell reunion gig with drummer Bill Ward. All of this began in May when Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Ozzy Osbourne declared their willingness to have one more one-off reunion gig with Ward. In particular, Osbourne expressed the opinion that Ward’s absence made the band’s 2017 farewell performance feel lacking.

I’m down to play a few of everyone’s classic tunes. Playing them again would be a treat, as I really enjoyed doing it back when.
I won’t discuss my health in public other than to state that, at 76, I’m in quite excellent condition, I play music every day, and I lead a full and fulfilling life.
The likelihood of a last Black Sabbath gig happening is now very certain with Ward on board, and it will probably happen sooner rather than later. Although there isn’t any concrete confirmation yet, Ozzy Osbourne’s opening remarks offer a fantastic suggestion for the band’s final performance location. Black Sabbath began their career as a band playing in clubs all around the United Kingdom, thus it would be appropriate for them to end their legacy there.
