West Ham United set to table contract offer to sign Stoke City defender Logan Laird on permanent deal

West Ham are looking to sign Logan Laird after the young defender impressed on a trial with the club, according to Simon Jones for Mail Plus.

The 18-year-old has convinced the Hammers that he would be a useful addition to the squad and is now in line to get an offer to stay.

Laird had arrived on a trial from Stoke City and ExWHUEmployee had reported on 28 July that a decision on a permanent transfer was imminent.

It appears that has now been made as Jones reports for The Mail (31 July): “West Ham are also looking to give a contract to Stoke City’s 18-year-old centre-back Logan Laird after he impressed on trial.”

Start small

West Ham have got to start somewhere amid a summer of confusion in the transfer market so perhaps movement on the potential pick up of a teenage defender can get things going.

Laird hasn’t yet made a senior appearance at Stoke City so seems like he is sure to be one for the future at the London Stadium.

David Moyes is intent on picking up defensive help with Premier League experience after numerous injuries to his first-team options in the past year.

Harry Maguire has been targeted at Manchester United but is proving a difficult deal to do, as are numerous others in this window, and pursuits will presumably continue despite the move on Laird.

The young Scot is already six foot four according to the Stoke City website and is credited with quality on the ball and in the air.

So if he is added to the ranks at Rush Green perhaps it will save Moyes from chasing another expensive option in the market in the next couple of years, if he is still in charge.

In other West Ham news, three senior jobs are now on the line after months of work were squandered to see a key transfer target head to a rival club.

he say goodbye’ – West Ham United has officially announces the signing of talented player from…….

West Ham United are still looking for a midfielder after selling Declan Rice to Arsenal for a British record fee. Juventus’ Denis Zakaria has been identified as one of their targets.

Last Thursday, we covered claims made in Italy that the Hammers and the Serie A side haven’t found a package that’s considered to be fair.

West Ham continue to chase the midfielder as TuttoMercatoWeb state they are ‘on pole’ to secure his services.

The 26-year-old returned to the Turin club after a loan spell at Chelsea and is not included in Massimiliano Allegri’s plans. Juve want to offload the player and it’s claimed this week will be ‘decisive’ for his future.

TMW say West Ham, RB Leipzig and AS Monaco are the three ‘strong hypotheses’ for the Switzerland international. Among these, David Moyes’ side are in the ‘front row’ and have been working to sign him for some time.

It’s claimed Juve need at least €20m plus bonuses to sanction the player’s sale and they seem to believe his transfer could be sorted out in the ‘next few days’.

Therefore, TMW say Zakaria is ‘now ready to say goodbye’ and it’ll be up to him to decide his next destination.

BREAKING NEWS: West Ham United has now agreed to sign another £52,000-a-week excellent midfielder from…..

David Moyes’s West Ham United are reportedly leading the race for Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria.

According to TMW, West Ham United are in pole position for Juventus defensive midfielder Denis Zakaria.

The Italian news outlet has claimed that West Ham have been in talks with Juventus for the former Chelsea loanee for a while now.

AS Monaco are also keen on Zakaria, a player Juventus are willing to sell for €20 million (£17.14 million).

West Ham United should get Denis Zakaria deal done now

In our opinion, West Ham United should seal the deal with Juventus for Denis Zakaria now.

There is no point in playing the waiting game any longer.

After all, the new Premier League season will start in a matter of days.

We know that the Hammers have been trying to sign the £52,000-a-week (SalarySport) Zakakia for weeks now.

It is high time that West Ham get a deal done.

If the former Chelsea loanee does not fancy a move to West Ham in the summer transfer window, then the Hammers should just move on and focus on other targets.

Zakaria spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Chelsea from Juventus.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on May 30 that new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino personally decided not to include the 26-year-old in his plans.

During his loan spell at Chelsea last season, the 26-year-old made five starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League and one substitute appearance in the FA Cup.

West Ham won the UEFA Europa Conference League last season.

The Hammers will aim to finish in the top eight of the Premier League table next season and will also play in the UEFA Europa League.

Meanwhile, Juventus will be keen on challenging for the Serie A title next season.

NEWS NOW :West Ham we still move to sign ‘special’ £50m player this summer

West Ham could still move to sign ‘special’ £50m player this summer

Fabrizio Romano claims that West Ham United still hold an interest in signing Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher this summer.

The transfer insider has been speaking to GiveMeSport and shared an update on West Ham’s pursuit of Gallagher.

David Moyes will be keen to bolster his midfield options this summer after losing his skipper Declan Rice to Arsenal

this month.

The Hammers received a British record fee of £105 million for Rice and are expected to reinforce their midfield options heavily.

One name that has been heavily linked with a switch to the London Stadium is Conor Gallagher.

Indeed, The Evening Standard claimed earlier this week that West Ham had a £40 million bid for Gallagher knocked back by the Blues.

And despite seeing their opening offer turned down, it seems that West Ham still hold an interest in snapping up the 23-year-old.

West Ham could move for Gallagher again

Romano claims that West Ham still hold an interest in signing Gallagher despite having a bid knocked back.

“Let’s see if they will bid again,” Romano said. “But the opening bid was rejected by Chelsea.

“Chelsea want something around £50m for Conor Gallagher, so let’s see if someone will approach them with that figure. But West Ham remain interested.”

West Ham are in desperate need of some fresh faces in the middle of the park with the start of the new campaign just around the corner.

They have been linked with moves for the likes of James Ward-Prowse, Denis Zakaria and Joao Palhinha.

As for Gallagher, it seems that Chelsea are holding out for £50 million at this stage, but that could change later in the window.

The ‘special’ midfielder has featured heavily under Mauricio Pochettino during pre-season after Chelsea have lost the likes of Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante.

But if the Blues move to reinforce their midfield, Gallagher could well be on the move later towards the end of the window.
