NRL injury list 2024: Your club’s medical news, casualty ward, player return dates

The business end of the NRL season has officially arrived with just eight teams remaining in the competition.

A host of injuries and suspensions rocked the league in the last rounds of the regular season with Sam Walker and Brandon Smith joining Nathan Cleary and Tom Trbojevic in the casualty ward.

However, Cleary and Trbojevic have returned for the finals as clubs begin the battle to reach the grand final.

Josh Addo-Carr won’t feature this week after standing himself down amid an ongoing drug test scandal.

Jacob Kiraz picked up a shoulder issue in the closing stages of his side’s Round 27 loss to the Cowboys. However, he has been named to play the club’s elimination final.

Jeral Skelton was withdrawn from Round 27 after struggling with a leg issue but has been named on the wing this week.

Matt Burton exited the field in Round 26 after a head knock and missed the last round of the regular season. He will return for his side’s finals clash against the Sea Eagles in a major boost.

Bronson Xerri has served a one-game ban for dangerous contact in Round 26.

Kurt Mann has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after suffering a fractured clavicle in the win over the Warriors in Round 25

Blake Wilson has been sidelined for the rest of the season after suffering an ankle fracture and syndesmosis injury in the NSW Cup.

Ryan Sutton suffered a knee injury upon his return to action via the NSW Cup in Round 17 and will miss the rest of the season.

Karl Oloapu will miss the entire season with a serious neck injury.

Jesse Ramien suffered an ankle issue in Round 27 and was ruled out of his side’s qualifying final. However, he is expected to be back on deck for the semi-finals.

Jesse Colquhoun ruptured his ACL in Round 19 and will miss the rest of the season, in what was his first appearance for the Sharks this year after overcoming a foot problem.

Kade Dykes has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after struggling with a knee injury.

Dale Finucane suffered a fractured eye socket in Round 3 in what proved to be his final game in the NRL, as he announced his retirement ahead of Round 8.

Jason Saab suffered a high ankle sprain against the Bulldogs in Round 26 and will be assessed on a week-to-week basis with the hope he may return later in the finals.

Tom Trbojevic was battered and bruised in Round 26. He corked his shin, split his head open, and also suffered an AC joint injury. He missed last week but is back on deck for the elimination final.

Corey Waddell has served a two-match ban for a high tackle during his side’s loss to the Tigers in Round 25.

Aaron Schoupp has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a shoulder injury.

Jake Arthur suffered a stress fracture in his foot and has been ruled out for four months, which effectively ends his season.

Brad Parker and Aaron Woods have called time on their careers ahead of the Sea Eagles’ finals campaign.

Sua Fa’alogo failed to finish his side’s Round 27 with hamstring issue. He’ll miss a few weeks.

Bronson Garlick failed to finish the match in Round 18 after being sidelined with a back injury and remains out.

Marion Seve suffered a syndesmosis injury against the Cowboys in Round 26 and has been ruled out for the season.

Jonah Pezet suffered an ACL injury while playing in reserve grade and has been ruled out for the remainder of the year.

Jamayne Taunoa-Brown suffered an Achilles injury last year and remains out indefinitely.

Jake Granville suffered a pec injury in his team’s win over the Tigers in Round 22 which will be his final game in Cowboys colours.

Zac Laybutt suffered an ACL tear against the Titans in Round 5, which will see him miss the remainder of the season.

Coen Hess suffered an ACL injury in his side’s final trial match against Canberra. He will be sidelined for the season.

Scott Sorensen was a late withdrawal from Week 1 of the finals with a hamstring problem. The club is hopeful he’ll be back for their preliminary final.

Jack Cole suffered a leg injury following a hip-drop tackle in the NSW Cup and will not play again this year.

Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has served a three-match ban for a high tackle in Round 25 and will return for his side’s semi-final.

Victor Radley suffered a fracture to his left scapula in Round 26 and isn’t expected to play again this season.

Billy Smith injured his ankle while playing NSW Cup earlier in the season and is sidelined indefinitely.

Brandon Smith suffered a knee injury in Round 26 with the club ruling him out for the rest of the year.

Sam Walker was taken from the field with a serious knee injury against the Raiders in Round 26 with the club later confirming the halfback suffered a ruptured ACL.

Egan Butcher suffered a knee injury during his side’s win over the Raiders in Round 12. The forward ruptured his ACL and will miss the remainder of the year.
