WENATCHEE — The Town Toyota Center is currently working to recover $250,000 paid to a fake agent to reserve a concert date with the pop supergroup Imagine Dragons.
The TTC was introduced to an agent who identified himself as James Whitting of Wasserman Music, Imagine Dragons’ management company, by Harmony Artists Inc., the TCC’s booking agent of roughly 16 years. The TTC paid a $250,000 advance, as required by contract, to reserve Imagine Dragons for a concert in Wenatchee on June 21, 2025, according to a press release from the TTC. The money was paid via wire transfer on Aug. 23.
Roughly three weeks later, the TTC discovered that James Whitting was an imposter and promptly contacted Harmony Artists Inc., the bank and the insurance company. Harmony Artists Inc. is now working with the insurance company to reimburse the TTC for the funds.
The arena says it’s anticipating a full reimbursement, but will be evaluating the practices that allowed this incident to occur. The venue also says it’s communicating with law enforcement in hopes of catching the impersonating agent responsible for the fraud.
