Flipping Joshua Moore from Florida was one of Miami’s top goals this recruiting cycle.

The Hurricanes are eager to land bigger-bodied outside wide receivers, and the 6-foot-4, 205-pounder is just that. Moore, who became the program’s 22nd commitment this cycle on Tuesday night, is putting it all together as a senior bringing in 32 catches for 510 yards and five scores through six games this fall.

Miami is knocking on the door of another Top 10 recruiting class after flipping 4-star WR Joshua Moore

The Miami Hurricanes picked up a big time commitment on Tuesday night, flipping 247Sports Composite 4-star wide receiver Joshua Moore from Florida.

At 6-feet-4 and 205 pounds, Moore is a big bodied receiver with impressive athleticism at his size. He projects as a true X-receiver at the next level.

Through the first six games of this 2024 season, Moore has caught 32 passes for 510 yards and five touchdowns. Moore finished the 2023 season with 835 yards and nine touchdowns.

Miami’s 2025 recruiting class now features 22 players and ranks as the No. 12 overall class in the country.

The Hurricanes currently claim the top recruiting class amongst the ACC schools with Clemson checking in with the No. 17 class nationally. Georgia Tech has the third best ACC class at No. 18 overall. In-state rival Florida State has a class of 11 commits that ranks No. 34 overall in the country, which ranks sixth amongst the ACC programs.

College football is all about talent acquisition and stacking talent year after year. UM head coach Mario Cristobal delivered the top classes in the ACC over the last two cycles, signing the No. 7 class in 2023 and the No. 4 class in 2024. It is the first time during the 247Sports era that UM had signed the top classes in the ACC consecutively in the 247Sports era, which dates back to the 2011 cycle.

With Miami off to a 6-0 start to this 2024 season and currently claiming the top class in the ACC, Cristobal is establishing a talent gap between the Hurricanes and the rest of the conference.

The goal for UM with Cristobal in charge is to sign top ten recruiting classes. How close is Miami to landing that type of class? The Hurricanes currently claim a 247Sports Team Recruiting score of 264.48, which barely trails Oklahoma (265.56) and Southern California (265.56), who are tied at No. 10 in the rankings.

Miami’s class now features three Top 100 commits, according to the 247Sports Composite, in DB Hylton Stubbs, CB Jaboree Antoine, and OL SJ Alofaituli. UM’s class features 247Composite talents in DB Bryce Fitzgerald, WR Joshua Moore, LB Gavin Nix, RB Girard Pringle, CB Chris Ewald, and TE Brock Schott.

The four-star commits that rank outside of the 247Composite includes QB Luke Nickel, TE Luka Gilbert, DB Amari Wallace, OL Max Buchanan, DE Herbert Scroggins, and WR Daylyn Upshaw.

Overall, Miami’s 2025 class features 15 commits that rank as four-star players.

Cristobal and the UM staff aren’t done chasing elite talent as well with the Hurricanes still in pursuit of highly ranked targets like 5-star DL Elijah Griffin, 5-star DB DJ Pickett (LSU commit), 5-star WR Vernell Brown (Florida commit), 5-star WR Dallas Wilson (Oregon commit), 4-star CB Ben Hanks (Florida commit), and plenty of others.
