Leeds United duo Daniel James and Manor Solomon have been back in full training and Max Wober is ahead of schedule with his return, Daniel Farke has confirmed.

Leeds United have started this season fairly well and went into this international break in 5th place.

They are four games unbeaten and impressed last time out against table-toppers Sunderland, only for a last-gasp Illan Meslier error to befall them and drop two points.

Given the injury struggles at Elland Road, Daniel Farke and co have put in some pretty good work to be in a strong position, even at this early stage.

Midfield partnership Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu are out with long-term injuries, leaving a massive hole in their squad. However, two of their stars are due to return to first-team action soon.

Speaking to the press ahead of Friday’s clash with Sheffield UnitedLeeds United boss Farke revealed that wingers Daniel James and Manor Solomon returned to full first-team training last week. As relayed by the Yorkshire Evening Post, he said.

“Good news with Daniel James and Manor Solomon, since late last week back in team training, a major part. Obviously Dan James was out a bit longer, six weeks, perhaps easier for Manor as he was out three weeks. Desperately need them back as solutions.

The Leeds United boss also said that Max Wober is due to return ahead of schedule and after initial fears he wouldn’t return until after the next international break, he may feature before.

Good news with Wober, he’s a bit ahead of schedule in his rehab programme,” Farke added

“Expected him back after next int’l break, he could be involved before. Need to make some late decisions as need to wait until all players are back.”

Valuable depth

James and Solomon returning to the squad provides some strong depth to the Leeds United squad.

Youth players James Debayo, Charlie Crew and Sam Chambers were all on the bench against Sunderland. While the injury crisis will be providing valuable experience for those youngsters, Farke would much rather have proven options to turn to on the bench.

The duo may struggle to get straight back into the starting XI but at the very least will provide serious competition for Wilfried Gnonto and Largie Ramazani out wide.

Another tough test

After facing top-of-the-league Sunderland last time out, high-flying Sheffield United are up next.

The Blades are the only remaining unbeaten side in the Championship and are currently sat 2nd. Chris Wilder’s side would be top of the division had they not received a two-point deduction.
